how much do you think this plate is worth C2 COUP

was on the car when I bought it, I have a few private plates that are all in sequence and would like to swap so the 911 is in sequence to the rest of the family vehicles.

the number is actually C2 0OUP but the guy who sold me it had a fake screw protector on it to make C2 COUP I have removed it now though.

what do you think I should be asking for it? the guy I bought the car from wanted 2.5 grand for it, do you think I should be asking for more? or less ?

If it was actually on a Porsche Carrera 2 then it is probably worth at least 25 grand.

But in the real world I cannot see this being worth any more than 750 quid....to me the ones where you have to put a bolt in to change a digit are the worse.

For a guide on price I sold C4 RRA for 2k 5 years ago.....it went fairly quickly to a welsh fellow who knew a girl with a similar name, I thought it was vaguely Porschey....as our cousins across the water might say, "go figure!"

I assuming you are including the car in that!

C20 OUP - can't be worth much more than £500-750 imho as you have to illegally misrepresent it to get it anywhere near intesresting to a Porker driver

How about my C4 FOO which is between cars at the mo ? Was going to put it on my 965 as i became fond of it on my old C4

I just purchased GT02 JON. I paid £1k for this which seemed like an excellent deal to me. Similar plates were around £2.5k plus.

I would say that is optimistic - I'm not even sure it's worth anything at all. Sorry!

It would have cost it's original owner somewhere between £250 and £500. I can't see anyone wanting to pay much for it.

BTW a lot of the cheaper plates you see advertised are at vastly inflated prices over what they get sold at, if indeed they do get sold.

A particular bug-bear of mine is when you see a useless number advertised in Autocar, or wherever, with an explanation of why it's good (usually in brackets afterwards) .

Some examples from this week's issue:

DED 851 (DEBBS 1) ??!!

Well, as mine doesn't need a grommet, nor does it spell a name, it simply says 911 SXP ... do you reckon anybody would be interested? as I'm not bothered about keeping it in the slightest!

For £2.5k ono and see what happens. What have you got to lose? Although personally I'd keep it as it looks great on the car.

Actually all this talk of plates makes me count my blessings. Let me explain: The manufacturers of my car not only made it look EXACTLY like a 911 turbo, but they wrote "porsche" in the back window and "turbo" on the engine lid.

This means I can have an ordinary numberplate yet people will still know what the car is! (and that I'm not (necessarily) a tit)
