If it is mild damage to the outer rims only you can do it yourself wife a good file, some fine paper and clear laquer. I did this to one of mine and achieved a 99% job and that is only not 100% because I knew where to look.
Just had a minor repair done to one of mine.
The laquer is quite soft and the paintshop guy just flatted it with 240's and then 600's and then re laquered and I was pretty damn impressed. All done in around 15 mins with another half hor or so for paint drying.
It will never be perfect because the wheel cannot be filled and painted but definately acceptable and much better that some main dealer repairs.
I have seen some of these wheels on eBay that are way beyond repair though.

Had an enquiry about advertising from this company the other day. Looks like a very good idea:

On my last normal M3, I had them done by Pristine in Milton Keynes. They strip the wheel down and diamond mill it, then relacquer it. The finish ends up slightly different from standard, but still looks very good.Mine were not badly kerbed, so it was easy for them. I'm not sure how welll their process works with nasty gouges.

I had mine done by Wicked Wheels in the Hampshire area - £60 per wheel and very, very good - came up like new and did have a nasty gouge. They even came to my house and did it with their mobile workshop - shaved the rims and relaquered. Be aware that the lacker may not match the original and can be noticable. So it's advisable that if you're only getting one wheel done (or one per side) to re-laquer the other same side wheel(s) to get a match.
I also know you can get them done at 'Spit and Polish' - Tumbridgewells

I had my 19" M3 wheels refurbed by px wheels and I have to say they did a great job.
I spoke to a number of people about refurbing wheels and opinions differ widely; some will only repolish the rim and leave it unlacquered (you have to polish the wheels with autosol to keep them looking good) - then told by others that they would eventually corrode if done this way (knocked that on the head); told that if only the rim is relacqured then it will go yellow and peel; other companies couldn't do the job for a month or required the car for 2 days.... PEx simply swap your wheels with someone elses, the WHOLE wheel is stripped, kerb damage repaired where necessary, inner spokes painted, outer surface machined and polished then relacquered - they look mint! The price is good too (£280 for the set).

I hope they x-ray the wheels to ensure you don't get given any wheels that have been curbed etc. and have internal or hidden fractures ? I presume they do but would always ask... But £280 for a set, with painting etc. does sound very good and worth the £10 per wheel above the normal strip n laquer that I paid for.
