skunk, check out criagslist.org (free adverts) and then the right hand side of the screen for the regions. GSXR's up here in Seattle are great value, I nearly bought a year old one here for $6000 ish.

It was dollars indeed.

Craigslist is the way forward, like ebay but free!

I bought my bike off there and it was half what there are in the UK. It was over $1500 dollars cheaper than they are at the dealers and biketrader.com

I'm stunned craigslist isnt as big in the UK to be fair.

skunk,

I live pretty much downtown. Seattle is a really cool place, no trouble or problems after dark. Its a bunch of hippies living here and a very eclectic (sic) one at that.

As for the rain, its no different to the UK except with better summers, spectacular scenary and surround mountains and skiing 2hrs from town.

Hi everyone - Has anyone hired a bike in the US? If so, what was your experience and advice?

Hi Mark, I hired a Harley for $100 a day.

Easy peasy.

Cheers. Where did you look for motorcycle hire? Or did you just Google?

oye skunk, Seattle international raceway is around kent but at the beginning of september or late august they usually have a chraity that brings out some hotshot road racers ( bikes) and they go out on track with the amateurs. I can't remember the exact date but the event is called the Seattle 100 i beleive. Scoob might know more.
