996 turbo S on German Autobahn

Returning from Nurnberg visiting "the outlaws" recently I came up behind a 996 turbo "S" on the Munich to Koblenz autobahn. It was snowing heavily and on the outside lane was just starting to settle. In seeing me in my 02 "entry level" 996 C2 coupe he obviously decided he'd show me what he could do. Anticipating this I dropped 2 gears and floored the throttle. He crept away but by about 140mph I'd hauled him in when he decided that was fast enough. (me too!).We continued cat and mouse for approx 30 miles, me reckoning he would clear the road for us both. I was also happy that he more than likely knew the road. Eventually he turned off down another motorway and I overtook. Looking over I expected to give and receive the customery wave. Zilch, the miserable git (bald,old,black rimmed glasses,looked like an architect,sorry architects!) just looked straight ahead and off he went. Incidentally my Vredestein Wintracs are fantastic and good for 150mph plus.
Thats what usually happens when somebody who considers themselves to be in a `superior car´can´t drop you, strange really. When driving a Alfa GTV 3.0, I usually found that BMW/AudiTT man when caught up, wants to speed off and drop me. After a few miles of them trying(trying very hard if you know how I mean), quite funnily, they´d pull off into the middle lane, slow down then put their mobile phone up against the side of their head and look at me from the corner of their eye as I went past LOL(but never a friendly wave).

Funnily enough we were talking today and he told me there are only 9 in total registered in Germany so you were very lucky to see one
But there's probably a hell of a lot of X50 equipped Turbos with Ceramics out there

Indeed they do - It's not recommended, although I must admit that I have been guilty of dishing out the odd 'gesture' over the years

Give someone the finger or similar gesture and they can press charges. You end up getting points on your licence and a fine. I have been lucky so far but I know a couple of people that have been done

sounds unlikely to me - I have seen about 5 advertised at OPC and same again prviately FOR SALE AT THE SAME TIME in the UK and surely they sell more (at a much cheaper price) in Germany?

Exactly mate the ones in the showrooms are not registered.
He got the info from Porsche in Düsseldorf where he just put his name down for a Panamera, lucky
