Seat are 4 bolts through the floor, 4 large nuts underside. Seat belts have to come out. The bolt through the florr into the chassis, and will be very tight. Make sure you record carefully which spacers and washers go where. The inertia reel bolts through into the wheelarch and you need to spanner both end of that one. Did I say they were tight?

The transmission tunnel cover and bolsters need to come out. Two screws under the key tray, two at the very front. With some wiggling and disconnecting of switch harness, it will come out over the handbrake and gear lever.

An obvious one I missed - the steering wheel. You will need good access around the pedals to get the centre secions lined up, and this will help.

If you can remove the dash top and undo the dash itself so you can get some clearance to get the carpets in around the air vent area, which is tricky.

If you are doing the door panels (you did order the extra sections for the door panels? not part of a standard set for some reason) you need to take them off. Remove the speakers, three nuts inside, several self tappers buried in the carpet.

Hood removal: again note the order of washers and spacer on the pivots. The assorted screws you see go through into the boot area, remove the trim panel above the petrol tank (it just pulls out) and you should be able to find the ends. You need a small spanner (10mm I think, or may have been 8mm) up there to hold the nuts. Similar story with the roof stay lower bolts, stright through to a nut on the back in the boot. Then the whole assembly should lift off.

Just to add, when you take off the hood assembly, disconnect the interior light cable first. Also be really careful not to drop the hood trim nuts down the back of the petrol tank...

The problem with the seatbelts is more one of location than any fault in the units themselves - unless yours have a specific fault I wouldn't bother.

mbu10,
e-mail schimg (Steve) as he has just bought replacement belts. Pretty sure they are standard fit and around £10 - £15 a side. If I had them out I'd replace them too as a matter fo course - think they need to be of some standard but don't know what. Again, Steve will be able to point you in the right direction. Replace all the nuts and bolts as well and copperslip them all up in case you need to remove them again.
