Seems like my neighbours are playing "who can let the loudest and most annoying fireworks off and keep it up for the longest time" AGAIN. 4th July (and several weeks before and after), 5th November (and several weeks before and after), lots of other dates with seemingly no significance, and now tonight. They've been at it for hours already of course (did the New Year start at 9pm? NO! So stop letting your sodding fireworks off, you tits), but the big bangs started at midnight and are still going on 30 mins later!

Arrrrgggghghghghghhhhhh!

The local pirotechnic experts (ie the great unwashed) have been remarkably restrained for New Years fireworks - ie tonight only and from 11:55 onwards.
There is hope!

Well to add my bah humbug comments, we've got two kids trying to sleep and the f**cking dog next door hasn't stopped barking for two hours and there's more fireworks than at the Somme. Don't these people have more useful things to spend money on? It was ok for year 2000 but every year? Give me a break...

Bah!

Happy New Year

Steve, the ones in Farnham are in the distance for me but can still hear them unfortunately.
It's the nobs who live behind us who are STILL letting off fireworks, most exploding over our house, at 1am, ARGH IT WAS 1 HOUR AGO.....GO TO BED.

Frankfurt at midnight was insane! There were people firing fireworks everwhere! People throwing bangers everywhere I felt like I was in a war zone.

Even business looking chaps would stop their cars, open their boot and take out some big rockets to launch up into the sky between apartments in the street!!!

Driving home at 1 am I had to dodge the rockets / bangers until I left the city. Something tells me Germans should not be allowed to play with fioreworks anymore.

Nutters!!!!!!!!

I think Fireworks are fine for New Year and Nov 5.
The 5th of November without fireworks, that would be be a Red Ken sort of thing.
July 4th, yep, I would take exception to that. Not neccessary. Why would an English person want to celebrate loosing the American War of Independence.
With regard to pets, they can be kept inside.
My dogs insist on going outside when there are fireworks, but than again Afghans are said to be pretty stupid. Mine just have a slight attitude to defending their terrortory.
So, sorry, keep the fireworks.

Well I drifted off to sleep at around 1am and the fireworks were still going off. I was woken at around 2am by a particularly loud one, and then round about 3am God decided to join in too as there was an almighty thunderstorm.

At least there aren't any tonight, which comes as a bit of a relief considering how long the fireworks continued in the days and weeks after 5th November this year.

Look on the bright side Jon, all those banging fireworks would be useful in disguising where the shotgun blasts were coming from

You could always complain to the local council. Enviromental health departments take a very dim view of noise nuisance. bah humbug

You might not get too much sympathy at midnight at New Year but 3am? and any other time after 11pm. However, as with all these things, it is often worth talking to the offending people first.
