Boring I know, but on my yearly search for the best quote for my 87 350I I picked up a company from a previous thread RH Specialists (0870 111 8962).My current insurer Footman James quoted £276.00, Classicline quoted £234.00 and various others very similar. On a 3k milage , Im nearly 40 (bugger!) and living in sunny Hampshire
RH Specialists quoted "£157.50"(including legal). How good is that!!!

better than the £1098 i pay for my 10 month policy thats for sure! And that price is the cheapest i found by about £2000 than any other company i tried!
For some reason, when you call an insurance company and say 'Hi, Im 21 and i would like to insure a 4.0 TVR please....' these seems to be a moments pause at the other end and then just a giggle....followed by the phone cutting off...
HOW RUDE!!

Anyway owning a TVR means you must have a large amount of cash stuffed under your bed for all those little jobs you have to do before a Sunday drive!!! As for Matt, at least there is some benefits of being on old b*****d!!!
Er, no. Owning a TVR precludes having any money, ever.
AND I'm older than he is...

Hopefully be on the road soon
Doing the final (hopefully ) coat of paint on the nose cone and in engine bay and then as much clear coat as I have left.
Then bolt all bits back to inner wings
Put bonnett back on (hopefully now cured enough and back in the right shape)
Insure when it runs out
Tax
Megasquirt it
Then sit back and watch the cracks reappear in time for next winter
Paint job not perfect but it's all my own work and I'm no professional. preperation preperation preperation and do not rush as I have found out to my cost

The excess was either £150 or £175 , the schedule they sent me does not say. When I get the full policy I will confirm.
Hi Martin (thanks for the help with the brakes again the drive survived you'll be pleased to hear oh and I did the fuel pipes the other night what a SOB job that was).
MOT next week taxed for 1st April (if all goes to plan) so you might hear me round the Island..
Yeah sounds good maybe be up for Goodwood Breky Club that weekend if I can secure a morning pass.

My current insurer, Footman James, cost me & herself £461 fully comp for the same miles, both of us over 40, me over 45, and we are in Liverpool by the bay.
Have just paid them another £150 for extra 1.5 thou till end of June and they want £530 for next year at 4.5 k
Probably tell me it's cos of where I live. Bare stewards

so I'm tied-in for the rest of the year... by which time your mates RH may have twigged and jacked-up their prices...
