Front end respray
Discussion
My Tamora is in need of a front end respray because of a slight "off" on a track day, Ouch !
Has any of you guys had any good/bad experiences and what did you pay ?
The colour is Halcyon Midas Pearl and I had a quote from the factory of around £700 plus VAT some time ago, so might be more now...
Would also like to know if anybody has a good place for alloy wheel refurbishment ?

For a front end respray (I'll probably get mine done this year due to stone chips) then I'll use a local specialist independant who I know will do a good job as they have a good reputation for bodywork, but they are nowhere near yourself.
Refurb wheels, try the dealers, eg Racing Green in Surrey do them for c£50, there are maybe others nearer to your home.

Price sounds good for a nose job - budget up to 1,000 pounds inc. for a full nose/door mirror job every 3 years or so (or every track day in your case ).

Jep, you do get carried away sometimes when the adrenaline is flowing, I guess !
Planning another track day in the spring, so maybe I should wait until after that...!

Got my nose done while the back end was having a Volvo shaped hole in the back panel filled in.They sorted a chip in the nose from a towing hook ,stone chips and a small crack in the front nearside lip froma rock in France.(Been an eventful year!) All in £600.
BUT
Its taken bloody ages. It was Direct Line who persuaded me to go with their reccomendation and after asking around I heard the firm who did the work were very good. The problem is they don't do many TVR's and what with the time taken to get parts ( weeks) from Blackpool and the trouble they have had with fitting the exhaust Its taken three weeks to do a one week job after all the parts arrived. I'm picking it up next Thursday so I'll let you know if they have delivered a job as good as the reccomendations suggested- I am concerned.
Hopefully there will never be another Volvo incident but i'll be telling Direct Line the dealer will sort it next time and they can just pay up.
