Hi chaps/chapesses.

Any thoughts on whether this is worth the money they're asking..........

www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/67235.htm

It's crash damaged Chim, mainly front wing by the looks of it, I presume a body shop could sort this out, but no idea on what it would cost?

that looks purely cosmetic, a good bodyshop will buff that out for you no problem!
looks to be quite a nice Chim otherwise. are you thinking of making an offer?

Ouch! You're looking at the outer wing, inner wing, bonnet, front valence and a radiator minimum. Looking at the photo of the engine bay, you could possibly be looking at the other wing too. Have a word with a good body shop - Try Jason at Webbs in Nailsea (you'll find them on a google search under TVR Bodyshop.)Top guys.
Personally I don't think it will be cheap. Weight that up against the value of the car even when repaired. What else can't you see that took part of the impact? No details of Service History. Hmmmm!
Plenty of good Chims in the PH classifieds.

It looks to be about £2k cheaper than comparable Chims on the classifieds.

It's a trade salvage brokers, I wonder if it was an insurance write off? I also wonder what they paid for it, and what they might take for it. Might put in a very low, take it or leave it offer, and leave it with them.

I have a chimera that had very similar damage to the one shown.
It was a little worse as the bonnet was damaged aswell.
Cost me over £3000 for the parts alone.
Luckily I could do all the work myself (including the paintwork which usually clocks up a good bill!!). Mines a 450 chim on 1999 and I gave less than they are asking. The main thing that affects the value is if its recorded on HPI.
If it is, when its fixed expect to get about 30% less than usual value.

Thanks mate, good ammunition, well I might make them a low offer, £4000-4500 given I could get a completely clean Chim with no issues for £8000 in the classifieds.
