Fault code reading on 14CUX?

Is there any way of reading the fault codes on the 14CUX ECU without buying a dedicated reader such as this:-

I also have an Audi and on that you can plug an LED into the ECU port and count the number of times it flashes for the fault codes, is there something similar for this ECU??

None that I'm aware of, but you can hire the fault code readers for £10 a week if you don't want to buy.
