I have been doing a careful study(*) of how many posts we get on here these days and found it's gone down dramatically since last year.

Following the conclusion of this I would like to charge the following persons with the following offences:

vetteheadracer - Being a bit too serious lately

eric the brave - not putting as many funnies on here anymore

malc350 - disappearing off the face of the earth, whilst coming back recently in a hallucination/vision just to put 2 more posts on

c5ragtop - not providing new targets for abuse (the last being a clingfilm American flag bonnet...)

ZR1Cliff - not ebaying enough or buying enough of the worlds content of ZR1 bits.

Te51cle - insufficient top speed attempts involving buses with odd names on the continent

Feel free to come and give me a beating!

Lots of love

FranV8

* Actually this careful study just involved remembering how active this forum used be about a year ago...

Correct! Good turn-out from the Vettes in number, noise and horse-power with a couple of those big snakey things there too.

Bit nips round yer bits though!

Ime always busy trying to encourage new members as i feel that the more we share the more affordable, interesting and pleasurable our hobby/interest becomes, and if there is something of value to share i would rather post it on the forum rather than email to one person as there are probably ten times more lurkers that gather imformation from this forum aswell ,but prefer not to post.

I'm struggling to have sympathy with your excuse for some reason Richard!

If its any consolation, it's mucho freezing here. Am I the only one fed up with this extended cold spell we're having?

Hi Francis & everyone I haven't lost interest in vettes though I'm interested in going to Germany this year if anyone wants to give me a lift in their vette...

Found myself with no work lately but will be starting a job with a company car in April so may be tempted by some of these cheap vettes around lately ('99 coupe for £12,950 and 2000 coupe for £14k on autotrader - there's something up methinks with the latter as it's been for sale for a while and aint shiftin'...)

Thought velveteen was gonna go this time on ebay...?

P.S. Off to Thailand for a few days on Tuesday, maybe come back with a wife this time (and don't bother with the jokes please, if in doubt do the "feel test"

Malc.

I haven't been posting very much recently (hence the reason my postings appear more serious).....just waiting to get my car back so that I can have some fun with it and then perhaps I will have time to waste on PH! I have been so busy working on the house at the weekends and I am too knackered during the week to spend time on PH in the evenings.

I will try to be more stupid in future.......

Cheers

Not quite as far North as Keith but I'm here Cliff! Truth be told I'm still in Moscow but will be back in Edinburgh for a while at the end of the month. Anyway Mk 1 & 2 sons had the vette out yesterday, T tops off and posing their way through Edinburgh before a quick run round the bypass before dinner. Told me its much improved since I did the carb and timing (Carb running too rich and timing set at a std. 12o) last time I was home.

Hi Cliff,

Yep there are a few yanks up here but I think I am the only person that uses there vette everyday, there are a lot of cars that are hidden in garages and used annually which seems a terrible shame. Lots of enthusiatic PH'ers here with TVRs and Jap motors and most folks like the vette and generally smile and wave when I pass.

Graeme I used to live in Edinburgh and have seen your vette cruising around, what a weapon, looks and sounds great!! better than my white 78 camaro I had when I lived there!!

Cheers

Nice to know that I warrant a place on your "missing list", Fran!

Still here, log on and look every day but seem to be suffering from S.A.D. - I need some sun so that I can get the knees out again!

Made it to the dyno day and enjoyed seeing the cars go through. Didn't take my Vette cos of the lack of MOT. Should be on the road by the end of April though!

Keith,
Its had a full rebuild since then, have a look on my website www.graemeinglis.com

Steve,
I know what you mean, winter is going on forever here in Moscow. We had a big thaw last weekend with a really warm saturday adn everyone saying spring is here, tehn it went back down to -5c now its thawing during the day and freezing at night so all the pavements are like skating rinks with bodies falling all over the place. Today its -8c with a wind chill taking it to -18c. Which believe it or not is very cold for Moscow in March.

You must be very brave ecossestang taking the top off in aberdeen. Lived there for ten years then decided i needed to move south for some warmth.
Didnt have my vette when living up there but did have my 79 camaro, and i did use to run it quite a bit, altho i didnt really see much other american cars. They seemed a bit sparse in aberdeen.

Fran, It's like a school reunion round here now (thanks to your posting). I can feel a tear in my eye.

Malc, Hockenheim clashes with the Nats this year, so you may end up walking the whole way.

Spoke to Malc yesterday and mentioned the clash to him. He's away getting another wife now
