Just spent 4 hours cleaning the car only to get the airbag warning light when i started up to go for a spin. Anyone had this problem? Advice appreciated. Sure there can't be anything wrong, just another spurious light! Someone said it could be a sensor in the seat any ideas?
Also what is the aluminium electronics box under the carpet behind the bonnet release?

The aluminium box you speak of, which is attached to the 'A' behind the bonnet pull is the engine ECU. Sadly i think once the airbag light comes on it might well stay on. You have probably disturbed a connection some where in the car. Try switching the car off and giving it a five minute rest, but i think it will be on once you restart the car.

hmmm, you could try the old battery trick to clear the light. I've done it a couple of times to clear spurious check engine warnings. Always keep a spanner in the boot now just in case, as its 55 miles to my nearest dealership ...

Tried everything £250+vat for the diagnostics. Rang my s**t dealer on tuseday to book it in. No reply. Any more ideas as I don't want to shell out £250+ for just a light re-set+ my time + 100mile round trip.

You could try fiddling with the passenger Airbag Control switch on the nearside of the dashboard. I remember reading on the American Maserati Forum a guy had this trouble after switching his airbag off after taking his boy for a ride.

Incidently I have just been through the "Check Engine" light headache. After spending two days fiddling with batteries and resetting throttle potentiometers I bit the bullet and drove to Verdi's. In two minutes flat Karl had hooked it up to the diagnostic box and was able to tell me it was the RH oxygen sensor playing up. He did this for free. He could also see a history of my fiddling and made the point that most internet fixes are rubbish. The only way to identify what is wrong is to plug it in and see what the box says.
