Guys,

I need to some advice on my clutch/ gearbox problem I am sometimes having.

I am having difficulty sometimes getting reverse gear. it will grind if I do not depress the pedal far enough, I have replaced the slave cyl and hose which helped, but not fully cured the problem. Getting any other gear is not a problem.

Question is this, Is reverse a full synchromesh? and does anyone have an exploded diagram of the gearbox assembly.

I am trying to work out if I need a new clutch or the gearbox needs some work. There is no clutch slip..

TIA

Kevin.

Sounds like a clutch or flywheel problem to me. I had the same problem on my 964.

If you also hear a big clunk when you turn off the engine, it will be a flywheel problem. If not, then a clutch. A technician explained it to me, but I can't recall the exact nature of the problem, but the hydraulic driven clutch will first give you problems in selecting reverse.

Thanks guys, as expected, I have replaced the slave cyl and flexi hose, bled the whole system, so I know its not hydraulic related.
I don't hear a big clunk when switching off...

Oh well, more pennies it seems...
