Had my 996 C4S for a week now. The car is fantastic and I love it.

However one niggle is the drivers seat is causing me back pain high up my back between the shoulder blades. I have adjusted the seating and steering positions many times to no avail. Has any one else had this problem? Any ideas? I would go a far as retro fitting the 'comfort' seats if this was likely to work?

Amazing that you should find this.
I personally prefer the sports seats, and have the confort seats.

Maybe we should swap.
e-m me if you are interested.

I have the same problem. After half an hour drive my back hurts. I have the comfort seats so I am not sure that a swap will solve the problem. I suggest you take a test drive in one with the normal seats before you exchange them.

Thanks.

Just to be clear I have just found out that my car does have the comfort seats.

I have comfort seats in my car and have the same problem, to me it's almost as if theres not enough support at the top of the seat? i've put it down to the fact that I'm 5'5" tall?

Ant.

A lack of support at the top of the seat is exactly how it feels. I think it may be more width related than height though. I am 6ft and for me at least I think the issue arises since I am quite big accross the shoulders and the seat at the top is quite narrow.

DJ, I'm the same freaky shape
I had a 964 with the comfort seats in...............hideous things, that are incredibly uncomfortable if you have wide shoulders/ribcage. They totally ruined the car for me.
If you don't need the rear seats, get a pair of (or just one) GT3 bucket seats in leather.

Hmmmm..... think you guys are on your own here. I have the comfort seats and find them the best car seats I can remember. Before this I had an Alpina 5 series with BMW sports seats and after 20 minutes in those my back was finished. But the Porsche seats are sublime. The only person who loves the C4S seats more than me is the chick who says they're the most comfortable seats ever.

I'm 5'10'', wide but otherwise normal (except for this twitch that wont go away dammit... who said that..?)

Get a grip people.

I've got sports seats and I'm wide shouldered at 6'1" and I have to say they aren't as comfortable as a correctly set up seat on my old E46 M3. As with most issues like this sometimes you have to adjust your position to fit the car, it took me a few weeks to get used to the Porsche after many years of BMW driving.
