Paintshield - Stonechip paint protection choice?
Discussion
Chaps,
Following my recent mishap I decided to go ahead and take full advantage of the situation and 'facelift' my Arctic Silver 996 4 cab. At the same time Porsche have agreed to rectify some slight bubbling on the Hardtop and paint the entire hardtop under warranty ('99 car). Because of this, I decided to pay for the remaining panels to be re-sprayed to ensure colour matching (although to be fair the OPC approved repair shop did say that they would have no problem matching the bodywork).
Having gone so far, and being Pi**ed off with stonechips previously, I now intend to have a paint protection film applied to avoid/reduce the stonechip problem.
After some research and a long discussion with their MD I've decided to use 'Paintshield'.
I'm booked in next week, so would appreciate feedback both 'for and against', from anyone having 'Paintshield' applied.
For those interested I'll publish pics of the car pre and post facelift, including accident damage.
Also I'll publish pics following the paint protection application to show how visible it is.
Have got Paintshield applied on my black GT3 MK1, front bonnet, mirrors and side skirts. Had it fitted last summer at their HQ in Grantham - seem to recollect MD and his wife are from Geordieland - very nice honest people. Great product(virtually invisible), great people to do business with and saved me a huge bundle on spraying front end following lots of trackday action. Highly recommended.
Hope you are pleased with the results.
