Got a nice big crack in the windscreen of me 147GTA the other day, and need it replaced. Autoglass say that its another £150 to replace it with a windscreen with the Alfa stamp on it, £150 that my insurance company wouldnt pay out for, they'll only pay out for the standard screens Autoglass would use, presumably a pattern part.
Question is, is it worth it? Apart from the stamp, anyone know what other differences there'd be? black border missing or something? Would it be likely to have an effect on the resale value of the car if there wasnt a genuine AR screen in?

Pilkington produce a large amount of windscreens seen in cars today, i suspect a pattern one would likely be produced by pilkington. It wouldn't surprise me if the Alfa one is also produce by pilkington. The risk is minimal so go with pattern. Don't Autoglass gurantee their work?

I wouldn't hesitate in getting the pattern one. As has been said, Alfa don't make their own windscreens! Pilkington, Saint Gobain, Securit, any of the well known brands. If it has an ECE Reg 43 mark on it (a bit of text saying "EX43R XXXX where XXXX is a series of numbers) it will meet all the EC standards for a windscreen.
