How did Fisi have P1 and have a replacement engine?
Discussion
He DNF'ed in round 1, so he can take a new engine for round 2 before the start of the race weekend without having a penalty. Think its aimed at the people who's engine goes pop, not finishing is enough of a punishment without getting knocked 10 places back on the grid too.
Its also why Coulthard was so pissed off, he finished the race in 10th place and then his engine went bang on the slowing down lap, so he had to take a penalty to change it.
EDIT... too slow in the mornings

It is all COBBLERs as it F1 - Christ I used to love this Sport.
At least the Real Racing start at Jerez on SUNDAY!
at the is risk of being controversial
NO IT DOES NOT!!!
Bikes are IMHO utterly dismal, I cannot get excited about them, even if the racing is good. Just no interest, not one iota, couldn't give a monkeys etc etc.
and yes you've guessed it, i've never even sat on a motorbike, and i would never want to either...
club racing, rallying, f1, DTM and WTCC in that order for motorsport excitement.

stockhatcher - you have no clue - HONESTLY None - the skill to be a top bike is on another plain to cars (at the very top level) and real overTAKING!
that's a bit harsh, i was not overlooking the skill of a bike racer, its just that bike's don't interest me, and it shows that the product ( racing) might be excellent but that in itself is not enough to make me watch it, coz i can't relate the the machines, and to a certain extent the riders.
the last bike race i watched was the imola superbike race that decided the 2004? chmapionship, it was an excellent race, but it didn't make me want to watch any more, indeed when a moto gp is on, i might watch the first 5 mins then go and do the garden or something.
each to their own i suppose but i'll always put even the most dull f1 race ahead of a bike race, coz i like cars, and the drivers, but not the bikes.

OK - best not get off subject - got may answer on Fisi - god F1 rules are for the idot arm chair fans that need a race manufactured.
Bike have far more oppurtunity to pass and get close to each other - and think about it 250bhp through a contact patch the size of you palm.
ok i think that was in english but i'm not sure

again though, i'm not dissing the bikes or bike heroes, its just they don't do it for me.

But I do think the rule is stupid anyway, they should change it so that every race that is completed with the same engine gets you an extra 2 points?

Got any evidence to support that?
Perhaps the only thing is the fact that the only man to have won both Bike and Car World Championships started in bikes and then went to cars, not the other way around. And the most recent one is doing it the same way.

racefan_uk said:Good point well made - to go the other way unless as a race racer you had equally away riden bikes from very young it would be impossible.

A better way of punishing would be any engine failure results in 50% of the finishing points for the constructors championship are allowed to the team.
This way the team suffers not the driver.
look how broken the whole thing would have been last year if (as nearly happened) Mclaren had won the constructors after losing Kimi the drivers championship with the engine blow ups.

I don't give a stuff about the Manufacturers points - surely we just want to see driver racing driver on equal terms all this fu*&ing about with penalties points has nothing to do with the racing.
God it make my blood boil. AND all this hit about 10 points for first and 8 for second WHAT ALOAD OF WANK - you need to have a bigger gap and nothing wrong with how it used to be to make this over paid driver go for the win, instead of mincing about for 2nd or 3rd.

neither do the drivers give a stuff about the manufacturer points, but the amount, Mclarena dn Williams stress on it all, and Renault following on for the adverts they have running now. would be a more sensible way of adjusting the scores.
All the points counting to the end result is better than a previous option of allowing them to drop some race scores. which resulted in prost beating senna one season

You miss the Contructors championship bit!!!
It has been team v's team for years now, why else would they have number 1 & 2 drivers!
Also it would encourage teams to make stonger engines so then even the drivers that are harsh on there engines could give it hell.
