Heater fan (again!)

Having read the previous threads I thought "oh that's straightforward I'll go and fix mine now".
No such luck....
So where is the resistor located, I followed the green wires (had you noticed they are all green, all 4 of them!) from the switch into the loom and found nothing.
So I thought, I'll join the various wires together to simulate the switch just to see if it was the switch at fault. Still got just one speed, suppose I'll have to put up with it.
Looking at the bible the wiring diagram shows a resistor between the two power feeds, mine looks like it just has a plain wire, is that where the resistor should be?

At some point in the past someone could have shortened the wire, not realising what it was doing, or alternatively it could be that someone broke/removed the resistor. Either way, no harm fitting a resistor if you can get your hands on one, as long as you make sure it doesn't "touch cloth"[TM] as they do get hot . Has anyone measured the resistance of a working one?
