Warranty?

The official, expensive one that the dealers are selling.

Has anyone claimed on one of these yet, if so how did you get on? Does the "wear & tear" option really cover as much as it appears to?

I'm considering the warranty for my Tuscan - so obviously I'm interested to hear the outcome of any SP6/clutch/'box claims.

We have one and the warranty co have refused to pay out, despite 3 dealers all confirming that it was an item covered by the warranty. We are now writing to the warranty company to take the matter further...

I have posted a similar thread regarding warranties. Fernhursts in particular.

Some positive feedback on the thread itself, but also some worrying tales sent to me via email about Fernhursts warranty too.

Seems a bit hit and miss to me.

Think I'll be buying privately to save some wedge, to spend on those imminent woes.

Sorry Lead, don't have any info on what you query exactly. But will be interested to hear the conclusion of this thread.

I thought the new extended warranties were backed by TVR and so they would decide if it is covered. (I could be very wrong).

Any other warranty which is underwritten by a 3rd party company is not worth very much IMO. They will always say wear & tear or design fault or some other excuse not to pay. However, if that does happen and you were sold the car and the warranty by a dealer then you can refer to them about it as they are ultimately liable.

Sadly that did not work for me because the dealer closed down, such bad luck all round. Ended up paying a large wad of cash to TVR for an engine rebuild that should never have happened in the first place.

My local dealer said the same thing, and therefore nolonger offer them.
