A bit worried about oil usage on the T350.

I check every week, when the car is up to temp, level seems to be the same as last Sept when I bought the car.

The engine sounds very asthmatic to me, almost 'ticky' under throttle.

Is this normal?

Any help appreciated before a trip to the dealer

If it helps, a symptom of S6 failure is high oil usage. An honest dealer may put your mind at rest.

If you're not using any oil you're probably not driving it hard enough Still, thats the best thing in the winter with slippy roads and cold tyres. I suspect your oil usage will start to increase a smidge now spring is here :-)

Does the car accelerate asthmatically?

No, not really, its just when revving the engine I suppose. And yes, I do plan to open her up a bit more now the roads are drying out!

Hmmm, mine has never used any oil, at all (and I've driven it fairly briskly on the road).
I thought that the newer speed six's generally consumed much less old than earlier cars (and the RV8/AJP)?

Oil usage goes up with the revs and temperature. If the engine gets really hot it will use oil.

Your asthmatic running might just be throttle bodies out of balance, they may need a little adjustment.
