Jaguar to close Brown's Lane site

I recognise that Jaguar are in trouble.
Owned by Ford, and selling Mundanoes in party frocks.
It just seems a shame that the original plant will close to be redeveloped into houses. I remember this plant from 30 years ago when it paid the highest wages in the midlands.
I used to ride past it, just off the A45, on my way to the university. The shock I had at the time was visiting the Allesley Village works, Meriden to be precise, just as Triumph Motorcycles was about to close. A lot of the Triumph workers got jobs at "the Jaguar". Seems a pity Ford are closing the site, having spent millions there, recently.
Any idea when it is due to close, and are there any prospects of visitors getting a look round before it does finally close?
Best wishes all,
Dave.
