Looking in the glass window on my MV Agusta Brutale where the oil level is indicated it looks like its sort of emulsified, into a white mess and I'm sure it shouldn't be that colour matron.

Should I immediately sell the bike before it gets terminal or can anyone tell me why this is like this. Just had a service 3 months ago which (supposedly) included an oil change.

It's likely to be humidity that builds up in oil particularly if you only run it for short times, when you run it long enough to get really hot it will evaporate out the engine breather, take it for a good run and it'll clear.

Thanks Catso that makes sense as all I'm doing at the moment in this weather is commuting 4 miles to work in the morning and back in the evening. Hopefully this weather is going to change for the better soon!

It is probably just humidity, however that does degrade your oil, which in turn is not good for your motor. I would change the oil and filter even if its only weeks old. Get the engine up to temperature and drain the oil hot, be careful not to burn yourself!
Fit new filter and oil and keep a check on it. Try and ride a longer run a few times a week to get rid of the humidity

Yeah just second the short journey thing, had this with cars a couple of times,my journey to work was only a couple of miles, engine never really warming up and condensation never really evaporating, oil emulsified on the oil filler cap, make a point of giving it a good run once a week,or change the oil more frequently if time doesn't permit you going on longer runs.

My old Kawa 1100 was the same, even though I did an 11 mile trip each way to work every day. Just shows how efficient old air cooled motors were at keeping cool.

You could try blanking off some of the cooling fins/core/ducts whatever an Augusta has, at the front of the motor?
