We really wanted to hear and see more about the Tuscan S and less about VBH. Top Gear - RIP.

On the upside, the verdict was very positive - abeit slightly at the expense of the original model, and for one no harping on about built quality and reliability. Pity they didn't also use the 10 minutes wasted on the new number plate discussion. (first 2 digits city of origin, next 2 indicated Sept or March release, next three Random - there you go 5 seconds) BTW would it have made more sense using 9 and 3 to define the month of release

The point is that it is an offset for the september reg. year (reg in march) (01 missed) 02 - 51 year (reg in sept) (50 ofset) 51 -01 from this the september reg in 2010 will be 60 hope that makes sense Sparks

I have never seen TG actually drive a TVR in anger on a race track/air field (I think I can remember Tiff gently cruising around in a Tuscan during a 'super car' comparison but they spent most of the time on interior shots. And I don't count the 360s the Swordfish stunt driver did a few months back.) Why not? Doesn't anyone trust them enough with a car - or are they too frightened? IMHO VBH is quite pleasing on the eye & can drive reasonably well so I don't mind watching her.

and of course its got nothing to do with using the number 5 (ie S) because it increses the number of words that can made with the new plates - hence more revenue for the DVLA/Government

When I was at the factory the other week they were putting the finishing touches to 2 Tamoras (we weren't allowed to photograph them). One in Chameleon Green and one in an 'interesting' yellow colour (I'm sure I've seen a Daihatsu Sirion in the same colour). I think they said one was heading for TG (maybe already since this was nearly 2 weeks ago) and the other was going out to a bunch of magazines/road testers. Not sure about Driven specifically. They mentioned the number of prangs that road testers inflict on the TVR press fleet - seems like the journos try to break the car so they can write something bad about reliability. T/.

Well they're probably right. Ever thought how much loading can be placed on diff mounts, clutch, drive shafts etc when trying to hone a tenth off a 0-60 time, performance testing is very gruelling and not particularly representative of how the car will be driven by it's owner, (well not all the time anyway).
