Alternators and tyres

A few questions;
1. What size alternator is run on the ultima? Does this change when air conditioning is added? I am in the process of choosing an alternator for a bwm-v12 ultima, ill be using a bmw alternator of which I have the choice of 140a or 90a unit. 140a seemed excessive and would like some more opinions

2. When it come to tyres does every one use the Goodyear Eagle F1- Fiorano GS?

I think mine's a 70 amp, other than the air con, there's not much extra electrics on the car, so it's been fine for me...

As for tyres, I use Pirelli P'Zeros, not sure how they compare handling wise to the Goodyears, though I'm fairly sure they are less expensive...

I've got a 100amp alternater which has never given any problem in terms of charging although I don't have A/C. As for tyres, there are several threads running on this topic. I am sure that the Goodyears are the best all round and if I wasn't going near a track or was going to do a reasonable mileage I would buy them from the factory tomorrow as their price is remarkably good and their service A1, but I am using the road legal medium softness Kumho Ecsta tyres via DT which are surprisingly cheap IMHO and in the dry grip brilliantly, but aren't worth a f**k in the wet. Pick what you want to do with your car and sign the cheque which may be painful but the end result is worth the cost.
