Smack the Pony - what's all that about?!!

i get the feeling its a woman thing. about 25% of the sketches get a slight groan out of me. the humour is probably better appreciated if you smoke illegal substances, which doesn't say much for the quality of the comedy. 
for those who cant bear to watch it the humour is something like this...
camera focuses on man in a kitchen... man asks to someone off camera, "you gonna drink all that?"... camera pans right to show another man standing beside a 6 foot bottle of beer.
oh wait that's actually more funny than most of the sketches in Smack The Pony. (and yes I just made that up)

My girlfriend thinks that Smack the Pony is hilarious - which is causing some earnest discussion in our house because to me it seems to be about as funny as, well, something that isn't very funny at all.
Is it just me, or is this, as I suspect, a bloke/girl thing?!!
Think you're right- my wife finds it hilarious too, and whatever the joke is, it's usually pretty limp.

I think your right about this tit, ive seen suger make people laugh more and as for this smacking the pony, I dont knoe this program but it sound complet rubbish and run by tits

Too right- big fan- but Sally Phillips aint too bad either, though maybe not as cute now as when she worked at Alan Partrige's motel.
I think the way to measure shows like these is do you laugh out loud? Trigger Happy/The Office- yes- nearly all others- no.
Smack the Pony gets the thumbs up in our place - good, surreal tv. We like that.
Oh, and while we're slagging Harry Hill, can I add my voice too, please ? Stuck up, shortarsed, unfunny bald little gimp. Badger Parade was tolerable first time, now I want to stick pins in him until he dies. And that way he goes "Hmmm ? Hmmm ?" at everything he says. Thats as bad as laughing at your own jokes. Wanker !
