Having a bit of trouble with my idling and my stepper motor is very reluctant to give full travel. Have tried locally to purchase with no avail. Is it the same as fitted to the Range Rover? Would anybody have a spare knocking around at the back of the workshop they could sell me or know of a local supplier in south warks?

I've been having a little trouble with idle speed and have popped the stepper motor out....

Now when you mention 'full travel' what bit is s'posed to be moving, even after a good soaking in WD40 the bit that looks like it might move is going nowhere?

Many thks for that source S27.

If you reconnect the plug with the stepper out you will see the plunger move in or out when the ignition is switched on. A fraction of movement equates to 100s of rpm. The movement is relative to the various sensors feeding into the ecu.

Just to finish ive answered my own question if anybodys interested! The classic 4.0 litre Range Rover uses the same part (Lucas ETC6660) at £64.00 inc VAT. (TVR outlets @ £104.00 + VAT!) Quite some profit? doncaster@allmakes.co.uk
