Hi can't help you with the clutch clicking, but would be interested in how the car felt before/after the new clutch. Mine is towards end of life so am about to have it done

The slave cylinder on these cars is a bit of a weak point - I ended up changing my slave cylinder a couple of weeks after a garage had finished doing the clutch for me. The click could also have come from the pedal box mechanism itself. If you have cruise control there is a microswitch on the clutch pedal that tells the brain that you're changing gear - this engages and disengages in the first few mm of clutch travel - again this is another potential click source.

Anyway, now that they've sorted it enjoy the car and let's hope that it doesn't come back. Best of luck.
