could it be coming from the windscreen being poorly sealed?

Link dose'nt work!

It does'nt appear that you HAVE sealed it, if you had, surley it would not still be leaking?

Mine is leaking as well, very damp in the driver's footwell. Have you tried sealing all the cables and pipes as they go through the driver's inner wing (under the bonnet?) Noticed today that mine were all perished.

well just to test the window theory
about a hour or 2 ago the rain let up
so dried winshield
then sealed over with water proof gaffa tape
then dried insde
again
so going to see what happens in the morning
are these pipes on the side wall of where the engine is?

They are the clutch pipe (I think), accelerator cable, air con pipes etc that go into the inner wing just down from the brake fluid reservoir. Noticed that the silicon had split around all of mine and the grommets had come away, must have been how the water was getting in as I can't see anything else. Bought some black silicon from Focus and blitzed it last night.

Unfortunately now my driver's side mat is now stained and looks horrible. Have spent this morning scrubbing it with carpet cleaner but looks like it might be history. Bugger.
