Help with idle adjustment!
Discussion
Guys,
Car is fine when cold but when it warms up it keeps cutting out as the revs at idle are too low. Question is when adjusting the idle screw I understood that you turn it clockwise to set back to the beginning and turn it 2 and half turns anti-clockwise to set it correctly. I've just been out to the car and started turning it clockwise to reset and it just kept turning and turning! Will it eventually stop? I must of turned it at least four times before I stopped!

Through trial and error I have found the following to be the best method.
Make sure no inlet air leaks i.e. cold start and overrun valves fully closed, AFM to plenum hose airtight etc. Check fuel pressure correct, all injectors opening and engine warm (ideally check engine temp sensor accurate).
Set the plenum butterfly bypass at 2 turns open, close fully the AFM bypass and then set idle speed to 650rpm using the throttle butterfly stop screw. Check the throttle pot reads 325 mv with ignition on between red and green, adjust if required and then fine tune rpm and emissions by adjusting plenum bypass (opening equals more fuel and air), and AFM bypass (opening equals more air only).
When finished check doesn't stall with cooling fans, headlights and power steering on full lock. If it does either increase idle speed or fit extra air valve solenoid in parallel to the cold start valve operated off the cooling fan relay.
