Beautiful morning, out for a cycle, and it turned nasty. Too cold, wet and windy to get any better .

I was expecting to hear tales of broken bones/equipment. Whip a plastic bag on your camera next time and get snapping (frostbite is for puff's )

38mph in horizontal rain, blurred vision from glasses that were too wet and being dunked in a stream. It was only a Canon compact with me, space and value being the determining factor . Touching wood, I've yet to ever break a bone .

when cycling it is sometimes the speed at which you touch wood that leads to broken bones.
or in my dad's case 'tarmac'.

A few weeks ago - just before the cold snap - I was up Hellvelyn. I had intentions of getting a good few photo's, but when I got up there taking a photo became a chore more than anything else- my trekking partner reckoned it to be minus 15 degrees at the summit. Got home, checked my photo's - crap! All hugely underexposed due to me accidentally flicking the wrong switch

Best just to smile and look forward to the next opportunity

Yea, it was lashing rain in all the above photos. It's the first time I remembered to throw the camera in my back pack and was determined to get one or two . Despite the pack having a waterproof cover and the camera in a LowePro case, it was still kinda damp by the end . First time in 2 years anything inside the pack got wet! Going back today/tomorrow as we were only out for an hour today due to utter saturation.

I cracked my first helmet by saying an intimate "hello" to a rather solid tree . That hurt for a while.
