Watch Uwe Alzen monster the Ring in his 911 Turbo. Please note: this is not the 'old' movie that's been floating round the Net. This one is from last year's VLN season and shows the Porsche in 4WD form (also with less power I believe). It also shows telemetry readings of revs, speed and laptimes. To say the speed is impressive is quite an understatement...

This link is quick but might be unreliable, so get it while you can:

Enjoy!

Excellent, thanks.

I have the first on DVD but haven't got around to buying this from Renn.tv yet.

Having seen this I probabaly should get my behind in gear. It's pretty quick!

I like the telemetry and corner information on this too. Maybe a few more external shots would be nice however...

Indeed! His estimated laptime for the Nordschleife is around 6.40min. That's just as quick as Derek Bell's famous lap from In-Car 956! Also, note how he yells some interesting German words at some of the backmarkers (which he starts overtaking on his second lap)...

Such a shame this car won't be running anymore. It was quite a sight, seeing it charge round the Ring.

Brilliant clip. The sound alone is worth the download time. I've seen other Alien videos but this is the best so far. As has already been said, it's a shame the car's been sold (to the USA, as I understand) - especially as I never got to see it in the flesh.

Google Images - Alzen Porsche.

It's the black & silver car with the extra lights in the front.

Another thing that's very noticeable:
The speed seems to increase dramatically as soon as he turns left onto the Nordschleife. A good way to show how boring the new Grandprix Strecke is compared to the old Ring, even in a superquick car such as this.

No picture? Sounds like you're missing some codec-files. Unfortunately, that's about as technical as it gets for me. Anyone else knows the proper codecs for playing avi-files and where to get them?

For very good Media player compatibility this one
Codec Installation Package for Windows Media Player 6.4 - www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/format/codecdownload.aspx (bottom of the page)

If this doesn't work then:-

Still problems then try googling for Nimo Lite if this link doesn;t work - www.free-codecs.com/download/Nimo_Codec_Pack_Lite.htm

Or try the bigger flashier Ace Codec Pack - www.free-codecs.com/download/ACE_Mega_CoDecS_Pack.htm
