Ultima Insurance
Discussion
I set up my GTR insurance yesterday. Ultima recommended four companies to me, one of which was Footman James. I also tried another six, but there were only two real contenders.
Footman James ended up as my preferred choice as they were the only company to not require no-claims bonus, and this was of real value to me as it allows me to insure my everyday driver with max no-claims. So the Ultima is really a stand-alone policy. After comparing the costs of a "shared" policy with two vehicles listed, against insuring both independently, I have saved myself over £400 which is excellent.
Also Footman James were the only company to give me the agreed value of £48k, whilst the others would not quote above £20k without doubling the premium. I am going to insure my everyday driver (730i BMW) with Bradgate Brokers as they halved the competition.

I found footman james to be the most competitive. You also get legal help and breakdown cover for the whole of europe. The policy also covers you for 30 days driving in europe. The downside is they will only cover the car for a max of 50,000 which could be a problem for a brand new car.
True my insurance is a lot less, but I am an old fart! - want to swap!

Sounds like its footman james again! - unless anyone knows other wise? What about the "old" car insurance? My chum has a V12 Etype valued at £30k but insurance is about £150! I will try these type of policies and let you know.

I know you said American National Property and Casualty was not licensed in MD. Did you try K&K in Indiana? After 6 months of searching those were the only 2 I could find to insure one in the US.
Which reminds me, when is the factory going to remove Grundy from their website as a US insurer ?
