Reverse Light Problems

Hi There,

My MOT's due and the reverse light doesn't work (on my t350). I've checked the bulb etc, but there's no activity at all - I was once told it kept coming on on the motorway (when I selected 5th I suspect). Any ideas if it's something simple to fix. Could a non TVR garage fix it ??
Any help/advice appreciated.

These reverse lights do seem to a prob with some of the 'T' cars - mine never worked from new (afaik), until I had the gearbox changed, and they discovered the reverse switch was 'hanging' in place, obviously never installed correctly when built!

I also discovered that a non working reverse light is NOT an MoT failure - so don't worry about that aspect too much - reversing in the dark though, I did discover just how important that little reverse light is, when its not working!

Thanks for the information - I hope my local mot station are aware of that.

I can live with only reversing during the day if it means I don't need to have the gearbox replaced.

Have you noticed how casually TVR owners mention things like that. This is my second TVR and I'm enjoying it much more - I think it's about having realistic expectations.

LOL, we do seem to be very lenient with 'teething troubles', don't we? Just to clarify though, my original gearbox was fine, I changed it for a close ratio box - you don't have to take the gearbox out to check the reverse light switch either, and half decent TVR garage will check it for you for not a lot of dosh.
