GT3 RS On Euro Tunnel Approach

I know it's OK on the train itself, but doesnt your front lip spoiler touch concrete when going down the steep road that leads to the train.

Here's a pic of what I mean (the steep road behind the white van)



My 911 TT was fine, but the GT3 RS seems much lower!

Yes it does (my Mk2 does) - but you can avoid the scrape by driving at angle (45 degrees or so) both down and up the ramp.

So do you mean drive straight all the way down, then turn full lock at the bottom to go over the last bit. Or do you mean drive down the entire ramp at an angle?

Yep - I'm assuming a 993 RS is *roughly* the same height mine didn't scrape as long as I took the change in plain one wheel at a time.

It's also worth avoiding going on the upper deck of the train carrage - the guys who direct the loading are fairly savvy and keep anything remotley low on the lower deck.

You turn the wheel and leave the ramp at a 45 degree angle. I have to do this on speed bumps.

My Mk1 GT3 is fine - driven on at an angle, lower than a stock Mk2, not sure re the RS but i would not have thought its any lower. I always ask for lower deck too, which the attendants oblige no probs.

my MK1 is very low and the lower deck is no problem. Have not tried upper deck yet

I've taken my RS on the chunnel several times and didn't have any problems going down the ramps (or on the train itself). I even went on the upper deck once, the splitter touched on the way down but no damage.

I have never had a problem in my RS on the tunnel, i dont take the ramps at an angle i just drive straight down and up at the other side.

Just take your time.

Don't try it in the tunnel under Silverstone track though - couldn't get through there at all in the RS.

OK the verdict seems to be to drive normally, very slowly.

I guess if I do start hearing it scrape, I could just reverse, then do the full lock method.
