Anyone experienced this? I''ve blown the same fuse 3 times in 3 days. It is the indicator\intermittent wiper circuit that keeps going. If anybody knows a cure, I''d really appreciate it - don''t want to miss this nice weekend ''cause of having no indicators! Cheers

Unable to say. Everything works for a while then the fuse blows but not necessarily when I use the indicator or wiper. This evening I put a new fuse in and had everthing working at the same time; radio, wipers, indicators, lights, etc and waited...nothing, still works. No doubt it will go again tomorrow. The only thing I can think of is a loose wire shorting when I go over a bump.

Check the wiper relay. It may have a short.

This one is so annoying! It went for 3 days, no problem. Today, 3 fuses blown as soon as I turned the igniton. My brother checked the wiper and indicator relays, which were fine at the time. However, since this problem is intermittant I don't suppose that they can be ruled out. 2 new relays I think.

Hi Macca. Which fuse or fuses are blowing? Looking at Steve Heath's book, the left and right indicators and wipers are on three separate fuses. Are they all blowing, or do their circuits have some common dependency?

Check the connections under the wiper motor itself. It sits on a ledge which collects crap, and the connections corrode away. The housing holding the connectors is not waterproof and will collect nice salty water and will short corroded connections nicely, popping your fuses. Other than that having the relay touch the top of the battery does no good at all, make sure the cloth bit it put back over the battery to make sure there are no shorts under there.

Hi ATG, Wipers and indicator are on the same circuit. 20 amp fuse, number 15. This is outlined in the manual provided by TVR and confirmed when both stop working after the fuse blows. Only number 15 blows (or is it 14, can't recall just now). Mine is a 97 450 Chim - maybe they changed the circuits at some point?? Hi Philshort, I'll check the wiper motor later this week. I thought about the relay switch touching something else so covered it in insulating tape - no improvement. Cheers Macca Edited by macca on Wednesday 29th August 23:10

I've traced the problem to a short circuit occurring with door closure button on the sill. However, it only happens every other depression (i.e. close the door once, no short circuit, close it again, short circuit). So, if the door has been opened and closed an even number of times the fuse goes once the ignotion is turned on. This confused me at first because the door closure is on another circuit. However, after taking out the fuse for the door closure and think I had cured the problem, it came back when I set the alarm. The alarm is a common denominator because it controls doors and indicators. Hope this is not the problem. Could this be a door solenoid sticking then freeing itself on the next depression? Any ideas how much these cost and how to fit one? Edited by macca on Saturday 8th September 20:33

Not the solenoids. I can hear 2 relays operating in the dash and suspect the problem lies within one of these. Have lifted the dash and removed the suspect relay. Short circuit has gone. However, nothing seems to have stopped working. Anybody know what the relays under the dash do? Edited by macca on Sunday 9th September 12:18
