I have a dead battery in my 996. Porsche Assist have been out and it won't hold any charge I refuse to pay to get it changed. Has anyone changed theirs? Where would i source one from and what sort of remuneration am i looking at to get a replacement. I need it before next weekend and i live in Nottingham.

Many thanks in advance.

This seems an odd thing to say you will have to get used to push starting your car or leaving it in the garage.

Your profile says the car is a 2003 model so it's lasted 3 years, maybe not the longest lasting battery in the world, but not the shortest either. A battery is just as much a consumable as the brakes, or shocks or clutch. How many times in the past has it been allowed to totally flatten? This can kill a battery no matter how young it is.

.....my boxster was an '03, the 996 is an '00 so it has lasted nearly 6yrs. This is the first time it has gone completely flat. I just don't want to get shafted by the OPC to replace a very simple part. Has anyone tried Costco?
