One of my cats finds the teatray spoiler hiding the intercooler on my 993tt irresistable when I've been out for a run and it's nice and warm. She (would be wouldn't it!?) leaves behind loads of hairs and little scratches as she launches off the wings.
I suppose that putting a cover on will stop the scratching, but is it OK to put a cover on the car when it's cooling off and the fan is still cycling air through the heat exchangers?
Alternative is to turn the cat into a hat or nice fluffy gloves, but I'm soft as shite when it comes to animals so this option isn't really available.

I would not be so worried about he hair. It can be wiped off easily enough. Get one of those california duster things. The scratches are what I would be getting upset about. And for that you can either declaw, or some one makes these crazy cat nail covers that are really for keeping your furniture safe when you dont want to declaw, but I bet they would at least help this situation.

Well thanks guys, some good practical suggestions there! 
The "shaven pussy" approach has a certain appeal, but won't stop the scratching. Much though I like the concept of the sod-off Portable Cat Repeller, this is in the garage where the cat food is so they'd probably starve to death. Wanted to avoid a car cover just because it seems a bit "precious" for a car that's kept in the garage, but I suppose that's the ultimate solution.
Incidentally, at a Porsche day here in France last year I met an old boy who put a cover on his 996 the moment that he parked it up by the hospitality tent. When I asked him why, he told me a tale of woe. He parked his highly polished car under a tree while playing golf, and a crow nesting in the tree was disturbed by the competition from his own reflection and attacked the body work, pecking and apparently doing a lot of damage! So watch out for birds with big peckers - as if such a warning was needed!

Get a life size toy cat and place it on the car when you park it up.
Going one better I think there is a luxury model from H A Rods which comes complete with a realistic twitching tail and with a tiny sensor operating a minature programmable cat language computer that senses when the offending feline approaches and says in cat language, in an agressive tone 'Sod off you mange-ridden flea-bitten mog, I was here first'
These luxury talking models are quite expensive though I think.
