WHAT A JOKE...................
Discussion
ASO SOME OF YOU ARE AWARE I WENT TO LOOK AT THE "CAMO" JEEP AND WAS NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE STATE OF IT!BEFORE MAKING THE TREK TO LOOK AT IT THE SELLER TOLD ME IT WAS IN GOOD CONDITION AND OWNED BY A PERFECTIONIST(YE RITE IN HIS DREAMS!!!),AND SAID NOTHING ABOUT THE OIL LEAKS,WATER LEAKS,FAULTY ELECTRICAL AND THAT IT HAD A TATTY INTERIOR,AND IT ALSO MADE NO MENTION OF THE FAULTS IN THE EBAY AUCTION.I SAID TO THE SELLER I WILL TAKE HIS WORD ON THE CONDITION OF THE JEEP AND "BUY"IT ON THE AUCTION(I DID NOT WANT TO SPEND HALF THE DAY TRAVELLING TO FIND IT HAD BEEN SOLD WHEN I GOT THERE),WHICH I DID,HE FURTHER MORE SAID TO ME WHEN YOU GET HERE,IF ITS NOT WHAT YOU WANT THEN I COULD LEAVE IT,WHICH IS WHAT I DID,AFTER SPENDING THE WHOLE DAY AND £100 ON TRAVELL EXPENCES.ANY WAY NOW FOR THE JOKE............THE SELLER HAS REPORTED ME TO EBAY FOR NON PAYMENT OF AN ITEM!!!!!!!WANTING ME TO PAY FOR THE COST OF HIS AUCTION!!!WHAT A CHEEK,SO ANYONE THINKING OF BUYING IT OFF EBAY BE WARRNED.I HAVE 425 POSITIVE FEEDBACK SCORE ON EBAY,SO THIS SHOULD NOT DAMAGE MY REPUTATION ON EBAY,BUT SHOWS YOU HOW DESPARATE SOME PEOPLE ARE TO MAKE A SALE!!!!!!!!!
i feel for you, the vast majority of ebay sellers are genuine people, i have spent 10k on ebay and even flew to gatwick from newquay to buy a ford galaxy in an underground carpark in the dark, based soley on the sellers description, the car actually turned out to be better than the description, we have had it a year and its still worth more than we paid, on the other hand i was given bad feedback after waiting a month for a pair of slippers! to arrive, and i had emailed the seller twenty times, finally given up and posting a neg feedback, she allegedly had been on holiday and forgot to send them, she never did and i never got my 3 quid back. As you say some people will go to sad lengths to make a sale.
On a positive jago note, mine has been with me for 4 weeks now, the rear shackles are fitted with poly bushes, the shocks are on the way from ebay(hopefully), a range rover tank is fitted where the escort van or polo one should be, new anti roll bar bushes are on, steering gaitors attached, i have the v5 which is fantastic, the car is correctly registered on an L reg, but is registered 16/12/72 so tax is free, shell is meeting floor this weekend then we will be flying.

hi smj, thanks for your reply,im still on the lookout for my jago,i my have one on the cards but dont want to get my hopes up just yet!sounds like you doing quite a bit of work on yours then?ive aslo travelled all over the country buying my cars and motorbikes on ebay,2 cars and 3 bikes which were very good buys.i love ebay its a pitty about the minority who spoil it others!i put the massage up to basically warn people that when it comes up on ebay again to be carefull and to vent my frustration for people like that!cheers for now arthur
Round here we define a joke as something that makes you feel good and say ho ho ho. Don't think this kind of behaviour meets that criteria somehow.
For the defence of Jago owners I'd just like to say(without the orchestra and angelic backing vocals coming up from behind the piles of scrap strewn around) that in all of our dealings we have never been ripped or messed about when buying a Jago, we've had the odd guy who has been sticky when paying for bits and pieces sent out in advance of cash ( Yes my own fault - not theirs!!) but nothing on this scale. Hopefully you can find and get a decent vehicle shortly and forget it.

im sure had it been the actual jago owner he could have more upfront about the condition of the veichle!but he left it in hands of his mechanic to sell on his behalf!and yes i agree with you and put it down to a bad experiance and move on.arther
ps i thought it was farther chrismas that went ho ho ho!!
ha ha ha

Sorry to read of your near miss!
I am more than a little miffed at the seller, I asked loads of questions about my old jeep and was fed a load of */*t, even ended up making a serious offer, that last reply email I got from him informed me that the Jeep was sold.
Unfortunatly I deleted all the messages when I was informed of the sale, so I cant give the guy a bit of */*t back for lying!
I did have some doubts though, as I said before I had been told that the jeep was left in a somerset field for quite a while - not good for Jago floors, even if they are made up of laminates of Aluminium and Timber! Certainly even worse for ford electrics!
best of luck with the next jeep you come across!

You was allowed to do what was said in the phone. If you didn't want it say NO, which you did.
YOU was not asked to pay the EBay fees the NPB was filed so we wouldn't have to pay the listing fees and the selling fees thats all. As said in the E Mails to you.
At NO point did anyone ask YOU to pay any fees.
As for 'Dave' what B/S was you told ?
