996 Financing Question
Discussion
I am hoping to buy a 996 in the next 4-5 months but unsure on how to finance it.
The car would be used as a daily driver and would have to be a Coupe C2 or C4, Manual and with OPC warranty etc
My budget if purchasing ‘cash’ would be approx £34K tops so I’d probably be looking at 99 – 01 model year.
Historically I have always bought cars cash from auctions or direct from leasing companies, I do have a limited company by my current car is kept privately. Trouble is I like having my hard earned in premium bonds and so on, hence I am thinking about getting a 996 on finance. Monthly budget would be £500, don’t want later than say ’02 as the depreciation would still be significant.
I’ve spent a while reading the various car finance posts and still can’t make up my mind if I’d be better off financing.
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated
Cheers

Given the likely cost of finance and the (average) interest earned on premium bonds, then economically you'd be silly to borrow money to finance the purchase if you could use your existing cash.
There may be some attraction in having some money available that you can dip into if required, so a combination of cash and finance may suit you better.

Can't really help with whether or not you should finance but if you do decide to (in all or part), I'd recommend the guys at Classic & Sports Finance. I used them for my 996 purchase and was really happy with their service and the deal I got.
You can get them on 07050 139381, no affiliation etc etc - they are happy to consider balloon payments on a car of the age you are looking for which reduces the monthly payment and perhaps means you can do other stuff with the cash!
They were particualrly adept at working late to get the money to the dealer in record time which meant I picked up my car early!!!
