What size wheels and tyres????

Hi guys,

I am looking for new wheels and tyres for my Griff. I want to keep the same size diff that currently exists ......i.e 17's front 18's rear or 16's front 17's rear etc. I have phoned many wheel dealers who are not interested. They cant tell me whether or not they will fit or what size tyres to include. Has anyone upgraded to different wheels with this problem? What sizes can I get away with?

What are your primary requirements? Cost? Appearance? Performance?

Have you checked out richb's car?

For example: decide whether you will stick with different rims front and rear as per original. If not then 225/40(or 45)/16f and 245/40/17r on 8" rims for example. If differing rims then 7.5" on the front then 8.5" on the rear. So many possibilities. Sadly most people bodge the offsets and rim widths because most mass market alloys are made for euroboxes and don't have the corect dims.

Well if this helps I have just ordered a set of 17" all round front 17" x 7.5 ET35 108PCD Tyres 215/40/17 and the rear tyres 235/45/17 but still cant decide on the rear tyres to be the 255/40/17 they run about .4mph faster........... dicisions dicisions
