F1 car running costs
Discussion
How much do you think it would cost to run one of these babies ?:

just for the odd track day -- not to race in euroboss or anything .

depends what you want to do with it. racing in the TGP series would be very expensive, scaring yourself silly on a few track days per year would be considereably less.
DFVs are going for around £30K at the moment so that would be a worry at the back of your mind but there are enough people out there wou can repair the car should you get too close
to the barriers. All the engines would need fairly regular rebuilds, especially the monsters like the flat 12 in the alfa but the DFV powered cars would be the best choice for lower cost maintenance.

not going to guess a running cost per year as i really would have no idea....

Surprisingly affordable ! well if you have 80k to blow on a track car !
Something pre 1990 with maybe a v8 cosworth i 'd imagine wouldn't be too bad .
That V12 alfa would sound unbelievable though ! mmmmm
You could probably buy a good car for 80k and syndicate it 4 shares of 20k a piece, would make the ownership experience less painful ... well until someone breaks it !
I want one !
Lets save up !

Quite simply, a hell of a lot.
The kind of places you would need to get all the work done would not be cheap, parts will mainly be one-offs so expensive to replace if broken. Things like tyres will cost a lot too, and it will be tricky to get the correct compounds.
You'll find lots of parts will need regular attention and regular replacement and nothing will be cheap.
You also may want to consider the noise limit if you plan to use for trackdays!
