swirl pot gasket

hi all, not been around for a while. was getting the s out from its lay up over the winter and noticed that the seal underneath the petrol tank is seeping.(tank now drained) is there a replacement seal available for this? or is it new tank time?

The Swirl pot is part of the cooling systym, were you meaning to start 2 threads ? I have a gasket you can have for the swirl pot , but the sender gasket i think is off a Mini , someone will be along with that imfo soonish i'm sure.

probably called it the wrong thing its the part where the hose connects to on the petrol tank. at the bottom is what looks like a retaining ring/ circlip. its seeping out there. i would think there would be a gasket under it.

If its the large diameter petrol feed pipe that comes out of the bottom of the tank then makes a very tight turn up to where its attached to the nearside chassis member on its way to the pump and filter....
then suspect the pipe needs replacement.
Perhaps tightening the circlip at the joint might do it but that might be temporary.

If your tank is like mine (as usual, there seem to be several types)you'll have a ring in the lowest part of the tank, wich looks exactly like the retainer on the fuelsender. My bet would be that a mini-fuelsender-gasket would fit, though I've never taken this part apart. Are you sure the retainer is leaking? As its the lowest part, fuel leaking from higher up would seem to be coming from the retainer.

def comming from there, checked higher up and nothing there. main fuel pipe already replaced with braided pipe so no probs with that. was a bit worried about taking the crclip off incase it knacks the tank although when i renovated the car the tank was in excellent condition. will have a poke around at the weekend and see. pain in the ass draining the tank as well desperate to get it on the road as the tax starts on saturday thanks guys
