It seems that there are a couple of proponents of each of these cars in this forum. Does anyone have experience of them both?

Currently thinking about changing the MX-5 for something a bit quicker and these have caught my eye. My main concern being that for about 3-4k it looks like I could get a reasonably nice MRT but any Rex for this money will perhaps not be the cleanest of examples shall we say.

Any thoughts? Or alternatives?

MRT
the Rex at that price will be a non-rebuilt, ex jap drift b!tch.
min price you should look at a Rex is 6000 IMHO
you can get a reasonable series 3 good series 2 MRT for that with a few choice mods.

Yup, definately. More like 7k or 8k with some choice mods...

For a tight budget got for the MRT and get a serious car later on

Cheers guys, pretty much as I thought.

Although of course looking into it, a standard rev 3 GT T-bar in black pushes the price up even higher...

Will try to stave off the itchy feet and play with the '5 over the summer and look to change when I can't resist any longer.

My friend has a red T bar for sale - think he wanted £3.5k for it, its standard but in top condition.

I'd rather have the MR2 T, but I'm biased!

OR, get a 2nd Gen RX7 (FC3S) for £2500 for a coupe would be a total minter, £3.5-4k and you be looking at an FC convertable
