Hi Guys,

I've used the site in the past but haven't logged on for a while and so established a new account.

Has anybody's pc-laptop been infected with Spyware Quake? I use Adaware and Spybot but it' not real time and 2 days ago my laptop became infected with this.

Does anybody know how to remove it (my knowledge of all things pc related isn't great) or know of a free program? There are a few programs that will scan free but to remove you need to subscribe.

I appraciate your help.

Thanks,
Big Fella

Had it just yesterday, right pain in the arris.

I think I used Ewido as well, ran in it safe mode. However on mine it was using a scheduler to try to re-download it every 5 mins or so as far as I could work out, this was called justsched.exe and appeared in my processes list, this was not picked up by Ewido I don't think so it kept flashing up with Virus found when the scheduler ran. If you find justsched.exe in your processes list after hitting Ctrl,Alt+Delete then select it and hit "End Process".

Scan your computer and registry for these files afterwards to look for any of these, of you find any just delete them:

justsched.exe, dfrgsrv.exe, mssearchnet.exe, nvctrl.exe, spywarequake.exe, stickrep.dll, sq.ini, hp[X].tmp, ld[X].tmp

Big Fella, have a look on the Microsoft Website for spyware tools, they have a free download that might do the trick.
