Reducing Video File Sizes

[sparkythecat]

I've captured some video from a VHS tape onto my PC and coverted it to an MPEG1 file so I can e-mail it to a mate. Problem is there was only 7 mins of footage, but the captured file size is 720meg

So how do I reduce it.
