just a quick email for anyone thinking of changing their shocks/springs.

i recentley changed to gaz shocks/springs all round. what a difference. makes you realise how crap the originals are.

took me about an hour on the road to get the right set up for my driving but once fettled, they performed amazingly well.easy to replace too.

big mention for derek at absolutely shocks. very helpful and service was hassle free.

its amazing how sensitive these cars are. my rear dampers only started to leak recently but the cars "feel" deteriorated so quickly. i honestly believe in spending money on a good suspension set up rather then engine upgrades. no good having all that power if you cant plant it to the tarmac.

Ditto for 'GAZ' and Derek. Credit where it's due I say. [won't be long though before some 'johnny concrete' type comes along and says different, prepare yourself]
PS. Nice wheels.

Out of interest, what click settings have you settled on? I'm using 10 front and 20 rear, finding it a tad harsh. However, agree handling is transformed.

thanks macdeb.fancied a change from the original alloys.

as for the shocks...i decided to fit them myself and do the gemoetry also. as for the settings, i have gone 15 front (from soft) and 22 rear.for me, this is perfect. dont do much track days (mainly road use). i didnt change the bushes as they have not perished.

hope this helps,

dan

What size wheels and tyres have you fitted there, tried a set of those up against the car at Halfraud's.They are Team Dynamics Zeta's aren't they?
Thought they looked good, seeing them on the car they look even better.

regarding the wheels, i have used the ford offset(4 x 28 pcd). 17 inch all round. they are the zetas. i wanted alloys that were quite similar to the spiders and that was the closest match.they look really nice in the metal. i went for 245 35 17 rear and 215 40 17 fronts(toyo proxes...which im not impressed with).

with regards to the set up, i used the traditional method. a piece of string and the old allignment apparatus.however, if you dont have that then any allignment garage can do it. they will charge around 80 pounds i can imagine. if i am correct, tvr suggest slight toe out on front and neutral on rear. i went for neutral front and back.budget around 550 for suspension and 300 for fitteing if your not doing them yourself.hope this helps.
