Don't know if this is a problem or just another curiosity with my gto-3r. Ususally I do 100 miles a day and except for a slight'grinding' noise when braking they work fine. However on 2 separate occasions when I've been a way for 3 days and not used the car, I've had to really put my foot ddown to reverse out of the drive as the brakes have stuck! Last time the car stalled the 1st time and then they released on the 2nd attempt- can this really be normal........?

It sounds like the pads are binding on the discs, probably because they were wet when you parked up. Had it been raining when you left the car on those occasions? If so, that's normal.

Thanx - yes it had been raining - badly. If its normal I'll live with it - as long as you're sure no works needs to be done - I'm new to nobility as you've probably guessed!

Don't leave it parked for a long while with the handbrake on, just leave it in the appropriate gear. Otherwise you will get this problem often.

I found that didn't make much difference. The fronts always stick worse than the backs anyway. Larger pads no doubt.

This is a common problem mandybex - suggest you ALWAYS drive the car around the block after washing or heavy rain, applying the brakes to dry off the pads as much as possible!

Many Nobility have been known to exit their garages at 40mph for no apparent reason - not pleasant!

It is normal.

I always park in gear, no handbrake, makes little difference.

If they rust too much, the discs will be damaged. Had my rears replaced, as the rust had penetrated, and they were about 9 thou out. They juddered like hell. Always try and get them warm before parking up. Don't know why, but the Noble seems much worse thna any other car I have had for this. The EVO did it a bit, could it be down to pad compound?

I'd rather drive OUT of the Garage at 40mph than IN at 40mph.....

This will happen to any car with performance orientated brakes on it. The ones on my Leon Cupra R are always really sticky after i wash the car. Worse i ever had was leaving it at manchester airport parking for a week. The brakes where grinding all the way to the motor way until i managed to get some big stops on them to scrape them clean.

I had similar problem with the brakes grinding and you're right, Once you hit the brakes a few times it clears- Greg helped me out with that when I first picked up the car - and he was spot on! All the other suggestions I've received are being put to the test and if I find any improvement I'll pass it on. Thanx again.

Too much hassle. I'm always in the car, belted up, when I find they have stuck. Bit of right foot soon does the trick.
