Quick post to see if anyone can help - I`m actively looking for a mint G50 3.2 as part of an extensive fleet overhaul this year. Does anyone here know of any good cars that are/could be available?
I`ve looked at the obvious sites but there aren`t too many around at the moment. I want a really good one and am prepared to pay proper money - I`m not overly bothered by colour/trim as long as it`s simple and not too suspect (not keen on the burgundy pinstripe!).
Also can anyone recommend a decent buyers guide or, in fact, an inspector who knows 3.2`s?
Really would appreciate any guidance...

Firstly, great choice of car.
Potential house move coming up so mine may become available - not sure yet.
Best buyers guide I found is Adrian Crawfords at www.performance2and4.co.uk/
Thanks for the recommendations - I had thought of Peter Morgan but not Adrian Crawford.
I am a lapsed member of PCGB - unfortunately bored to a standstill - so I don`t have access to the magazine! Any kind members happy to flag up any appropriate looking cars? (I am also looking for a RHD 2.2/2.4 S!).
ICSD - your car looks nice and seems to be what I am after - whereabouts in the Thames Valley are you? - I am in Windsor.

I'm just south of Newbury and I'm a PCGB member so I'll have a look for you.

Thanks - much appreciated.
There looks to be a lovely car in Glasgow - why, when you have money in your pocket, are all the obvious cars miles away!
What's wrong with the sale section on pistonheads?
There are a number of cars on there depending on your budget and spec required.
This one looked intersting: www.pistonheads.com/sales/70631.htm
Just ensure your get it checked by a specialist.

ettore,..the sight of my grey metallic 89 3.2 with 911 plate parked in central windsor hasnt tempted you has it?? personally got no knowledge of market for these cars but recently read a post where someone said the late ones are heading upwards in value..and despite my cars miles i've had two calls from independents who have worked on it who have people interested in buying it..must mean something. got mine from eporsch in surrey who always seems to have something good in.

Nothing wrong the the PH classifieds at all - the mint car in Glasgow is closest to what I want and if it were nearer I would be going to see it. The one above looks nice and is well priced - I am looking for an absolutely top-notch car though.

Perhaps it has, although Central Windsor doesn`t lack for Porsches! Thanks for the eporsch recommendation, nothing in at the moment but now on the morning list...
Real inspiration for this was a gradual realisation that current 911s don`t really do it for me - I was happily sat on the list for a nice 997 S when a combination of a very irritating OPC and a criminal p/ex for my Boxster S made me see the light. Instead of one rapidly depreciating, fat GT I can have two old 911`s and something else as well!

Is the mint one in Glasgow the same one that has been for sale for a few months now, very low mileage at around £17k?
Yep, think so - started at 18Kish and is now 16.5. If only it was nearer!
There is a Carrera CS available at gmund cars - www.gmundcars.com
Can't vouch for them nor the car though.
Best of luck

Ettore,
If it looks as good as it does, why not get it inspected by a Porsche Specialist in Glasgow. Then if it turns out to be OK make an offer. Quick flight from Heathrow to Glaswgow and a great drive home.
Seriously if took me months to find a good 3.2, don't waste time make the effort and in a couple of weeks time you could be out driving instead of looking. Good luck in the search.
I use my 3.2 daily and am looking forward to getting the Caterham out as the weather improves

I think you may be right - anyone know a relevant specialist in Glasgow!?
This car looked great when Burriana was searching around - I can't believe it's still there. Either it's the Geography or there's something a miss??
Find out where the owner has it serviced and then speak to them about the car (I'm assuming that it is a Porsche Specialist/OPC). You should get a fairly honest opinion.
If it sounds good I'd head up there with the buyers guide I mentioned. 3.2s are very robust so I reckon that if it checks out with Adrian Crawford and HPI you're going to be fairly safe. Plus if it's still hanging around he's going to take an offer which will save enough to sort a lot of problems. I've bought 2 3.2s without a PPI and they've both been absolute peaches!

Quick search on a couple of Porsche websites throws up:
George Morrison Motors, 130 Farmeloan Road, Rutherglen, Glasgow Tel: 0141 643 1768
Porsche Centre Glasgow, Maxwell Avenue, Bearsden, Glasgow, Strathclyde G61 1HU Tel:0141 943 1155
But there seems to be alot of good things said about Motortune (although they're not in Glasgow), so you could get your man to take it for a run down there.
Peter McAnna at Motortune in Shotts Tel: 01501 822247
