GAZ Gold shocks and springs, what a difference?
Discussion
Ive just changed my old AVO's for GAZ Golds and I must say the difference is clear straight away, it just seems much more planted on the road. Instead of bouncing around corners I can now power around them? It also seems to have eliminated understeer, the front used to 'dig in' if I approached a roundabout too fast but now it doesnt and goes around with minimum effort. Ive only driven it a few times since having them fitted so will report my findings in a few weeks when Ive had chance to really throw it around....
First impressions though are excellent and I have much more confidence in the handling than I did before, all the better for getting the power down

Good to hear, agree first drives after upgrades you really notice the difference, yoiu soon get used to it thouhg . re the front end being better at turning in it could be down to a higher spring poundage what rates did you go for front and back
.
I would go 375/300 for cruising/fast road but Mike likes a bit of fast hooning and other more sports orientated drives, so I gave him 400/325.
The reason he can drive more into and out of corners is the different bump/rebound ratio on the rear as much as the spring rates, the S needs more rebound to bump to work properly.
