front number plate holder - advice needed
Discussion
hello
I have fallen out with the wind catcher on the front of my 996 (number plate holder) I was thinking it would look so much better if I had it removed and had a number plate sticker put on the nose of the car instead.
I just dont like the look of it, not sure why but I really want to get rid of it.
has anyone done this? I cant seem to find any pictures on the web, any ideas where I would get the sticker from?
I have checked the legal side and aslong as it doesent have a plate holder on the front you dont need the plastice number plate, the sticker will do.
any help would be greatly appreciated, especially if anyone else has done this already.
thanks

There was a post recently by a guy with a Noble with adhsive numberplate on the nose.
IIRC a numberplate needs to be 90deg to the road and reflective. The adhesive type on the nose don't comply with DVLA legislation.
However, the BiB on PH concluded that you'd be very unlucky to get a 'pull'.
Like you, I'd be interested to see what it would look like
especially as some
has just scratched my PU by doing a lovely bit of 'touch parking'

I agree, the bracket does spoil the lines a bit, that's why I have a sticky one on mine. I haven't got the web address here but will post it when I get home.
As far as legality is concerned, it's not officially road legal but I've had mine for a couple of yrs now without any problem. I guess as long as the letter size is correct, and you don't put any funny spacing in it, then the MIB won't bother to pull you just because of it.
